Republican congressmen have co-sponsored the “Stop Arming Terrorists Act” to end federal funding of terrorist organizations.
The Stop Arming Terrorists Act could be a major breakthrough in the fight against Radical Islam. The Act would make it illegal for any U.S government agency to directly or indirectly help any terrorist organization.
The bill, introduced by Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), has bipartisan support, including top House conservatives Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) and Thomas Massie (R-KY).
Indeed, Obama’s own administration has been asking the federal government to stop funding terrorists.
Daniel Benjamin, the coordinator for counterterrorism in Obama’s Department of State wrote an op-ed in the New York Times calling on western nations to stop paying ransoms for kidnappings to terrorist groups like Al-Qaeda. He is correct.
The Director of National Intelligence will be compiling a list of countries, terrorist organization, and specific people that the Stop Arming Terrorists Act would apply too.
Of late, more members of Congress are joining the effort end U.S global involvement in other countries. That is a good thing. If passed, this bill could seriously threaten radical Islam and could serve a devastating blow to terrorism.
